A massive explosion at a train station in the Russian city of Volgograd has killed at least 16 people,including one police officer, as many as 50 people were injured- at least half of them are in a critical condition, including a 9 year old girl.
According to reports, the blast was carried out by a female suicide bomber who detonated her explosives in front of a metal detector just inside the main entrance of the train station, one woman had a narrow escape when she left the station just moments before the bomb went off, reports CBS News Holly Williams.
"I saw people running, "she said. "Human flesh all around, shattered glass and broken doors. I saw smoke, but didn't understand what was going on. '
This would be the second deadly attack in Russia in just two years as Russia prepares to host the 2014 winter Olympics in the Black sea city of sochi in less than six weeks time.
