19 YEARS OLD GIRL ABORTED PREGNANCY ONLY TO DISCOVER 3 MONTHS LATER THAT SHE WAS STILL PREGNANT!

 A teenage mother who had an abortion was shocked to discover she was still pregnant three months later. Shannon Skinner, 19, had the abortion when she was eight weeks pregnant, having decided it was soon to have a second child. She and her 24 years old partner Anthony Hunt already have a 9 month old child.

But in a rare occurrence, the abortion failed and Shannon continued having morning sickness and feeling movements in her womb. Doctors told her they were side effects of the abortion, but after three months, tests revealed the mother-of -one was pregnant- and her baby daughter had miraculously survived the induced miscarriage.

Scan have shown that her baby looks physically fine and she is due to be born on may 7

According to Shannon: 

'We thought she had gone. I had grieved for that baby and we'd just managed to get our heads around it. Anthony and I felt like we'd made the right decision because we were having problems and we didn't think it was right to bring a baby into that.

I'd always been one of those people that was against abortions and hated them but I was suffering with post-natal depression. Lacie was just four months old at the time, so I had to do what I thought was best. But it was not an easy decision and i regretted it straight away after it and even at the time didn't know if I was doing the right thing.

The couple have been told that survival after a medical abortion occurs in just per cent of cases.

They are still inside the legal 24-week termination limit but the couple say their baby girl is now too old and has been put through too much.

Ms Skinner, a stay-at-home mother, said:

We've now decided to keep the baby, as we don't feel it's right to have an abortion at this stage. She's obviously a little fighter, and we don't want to cause her any more harm. When I had the abortion it didn't  feel the same as it does now- we have seen her and heartbeat..

ODUAH TO SPEND ANOTHER N800 MILLION ON VEHICLES

The embattled Nigeria's Avaiation Minister, Stella Oduah, according to PM NEWS LAGOS will spend at least N800 million on vehicles in 2014, after splashing N643 million on 54 vehicles in 2013, her budget proposal shows.

The budget proposal obtained according to PM NEWS shows that Oduah will spend N250 million on eight operational vehicles for the Accident Investigation Bureau, AIB, and another N500 million to buy some trucks for the agency. She will also spend another N50 million on staff buses at the Ministry of Aviation.

The budget proposal shows that the ministry of Aviation will spend over N137 million on foreign trips. Oduah will also spend N100 million on her controversial Aerotropolis Consultants, the city-airports she claims Nigeria desperately needs.

She will then spend another 20 million on other types of consultancies and another N425 million on consultancy of Institutional reforms, legal services and commercial.

General consulting and professional services for the Nigerian Meteorological Agency will gulp over N8 million.

On airport internal access roads, Oduah would spend N200 million and another N100 million to paint on security gateways on express roads.

Oduah will also equally spend N820 million on the maintenance agreement for the TRACON support services.

The Ministry of Aviation will spend over N13 million on refreshment and meals and another N9 million on publicity.

In all, the ministry has earmarked N26 billion for capital expenditure and over N6 billion for recurrent expenditure. The total budget of the ministry is N32.3 billion.

An unidentified soldier, yesterday morning allegedly beat a bus conductor (names unknown) to death at Obalende in Lagos, for insisting that the soldier who boarded his vehicle must pay his fare.

According to reports, the unidentified danfo driver with vehicle number LSD 451 XG was pounced on by the soldier who was in a mufti following a heated argument over transport fare. Eyewitnesses say the man had accompanied his wife to the park at Obalende to get a bus to her destination.

Withing a moment, the late conductor and the woman, exchanged hot words over transport fare.That made the uninformed man to react. He lost his temper and kept beating the guy, until he died,"one account said.

He dragged the deceased, raining blows on his head, stomach and chest. On noticing he had given up the ghost, it was learnt that the Soldier attempted to run away, but commuters and passerby who witnessed the beating arrested him and told him to carry the corpse to the hospital.

Sensing that the soldier was about to be mobbed, a police phoned his colleagues at the Kam Salem Police Divisional Headquarters, Moloney street and four police patrol vehicles with policemen arrived at the scene. A detachment of armed soldiers from nearby Dodan Barracks also arrived the scene to prevent the culprit from being killed by the mob.

The soldiers took away their colleague and the corpse to their barracks after dispersing hundreds of people asking for the soldiers blood.

According to a poll of 1,000 people,. this results in many couples being more than a stone heavier less than four years after their wedding day.

The main reason for piling on the pound is the amount of time they spend staying in and snacking together in front of the TV.

Settled couples also feel under less pressure to look good because they are no longer seeking a partner. Childbirth is another factor- with women in particular blaming this for weight gain.

According to the research, 72 per cent of those polled felt under more pressure to stay slim when we are single because they are still looking for a partner. On the other hand, 82% of couples said they put on weight after marrying or settling in a stable relationship, and 54% of couples admitted that they put weight on together. Women, in particular, felt under less pressure to stay slim if their husband or boyfriend was putting on weight at the same time.

UK TRAINING: NATIONAL COACHING TALENT HUNT BEGINS

Young and aspiring coaches will have the opportunity to sharpen their skill at the Birmingham County Football Development Scheme (BFCDS), United Kingdom, for three months if they emerge winners at the National Coaching Talent Hunt.

Apart from this, the successful participants also stand a chance of earning BFCDS coaching certification, N100,000 monthly allowance during their stay in UK, a "chopping" money spree of N250,000 and have the chance to watch EPL live matches.

NIGERIAN MAN KILLED IN INDIA, SIMEON OBODO, BURIED IN HIS HOMETOWN

The 35 year old Nigerian who was killed in Gao, India on November 30, Simeon Obodo has been buried in his hometown in Obogwe-Umunwaku community in Ohaji/Egbema Local Government Area of Imo State in Nigeria.

A representative of the family, Ejike Esinkoye, disclosed this in a telephone interview with the News Agency of  Nigeria in Abuja on Monday.

Mr. Esinkoye, who said the funeral service of Mr. Obodo took place on Monday at St. Paul's Catholic parish Obogwe-Umunwaku, expressed dismay that the Federal Government did not send an official delegation to the burial.

He also said that the family is yet to receive any compensation or assistance from the Indian government. 

The death of the Nigeria during a violent clash in Goa Village, India, sparked a diplomatic row between both countries. Around 200 Nigerians in India protested Mr. Obodo's murder by blockinga national highway and clashing with locals and police in the area.

Fifty-three of  the protesting Nigerians were arrested and later released, after paying fees to secure their release.

According to a biography published by the family, Mr Obodo worked and lived in port Harcourt before travelling to Liberia in 2009. Mr Obodo, who left Nigeria for India on January 9 before his unfortunate death on November 30, few days to his 36th birthday, is survived by an aged mother, daughter and wife.

TERRY G GOT ATTACKED ON STAGE IN HIS HOMETOWN WHILE PERFORMING ON STAGE

Terry G was at the IBB Square Makurdi, in Benue State last weekend when the Benue youth fiesta staged there was disrupted as a popular Nigerian musician, Terry G, the crooner was performing on the stage. The musician hails from the state.

The Benue fiesta, which attracted hundreds of youth, including men and women was organized by the member representing Guma/Makurdi federal constituency, Barrister Emmanuel Jime, who is known to be  nursing gubernatorial ambition in 2015.

The venue of the event was jam-packed as all fun seekers in the agrarian state attended to unwind.

Prominent Nigerian artistes including J. Martins, I Go Dye, Ice Prince and Pastor Nicodemus performed at the event and it was such a lively occasion before it was rudely interrupted. Trouble started as Terry G was on stage performing and some youth suspected to be hoodlums began to throw sachet water on the musician and later broke bottles and charged towards him, while making loud noise. There was confusion as people ran helter-skelter for their lives.

FEMALE SUICIDE BOMBER BLOWS UP TRAIN STATION, KILLS 16

A massive explosion at a train station in the Russian city of Volgograd has killed at least 16 people,including one police officer, as many as 50 people were injured- at least half of them are in a critical condition, including a 9 year old girl.

According to reports, the blast was carried out by a female suicide bomber who detonated her explosives in front of a metal detector just inside the main entrance of the train  station, one woman had a narrow escape when she left the station just moments before the bomb went off, reports CBS News Holly Williams.

"I saw people running, "she said. "Human flesh all around, shattered glass and broken doors. I saw smoke, but didn't understand what was going on. '

This would be the second deadly attack in Russia in just two years as Russia prepares to host the 2014 winter Olympics in the Black sea city of sochi in less than six weeks time.

BOKO HARAM KILLS EIGHT PEOPLE IN A BACHELORS PARTY IN MAIDUGURI

Around 11 pm on Saturday night, Dec. 28, Three men suspected to be members of the Islamist militant group Boko Haram invaded a bachelors party at Tashan Alade village in Maiduguri and opened fire on the party goers, killing eight of them and injuring several others.

A witness who saw the attacked said that the gunmen came in two motorcycles, joined the party as if they were guests and before anybody knew what was going on, they brought out their riffles and started shooting indiscriminately. They fled the scene after making sure several people were dead.

WIZKID MANAGER INVOLVED IN CAR ACCIDENT

Months after acquiring a car, Godwin Tom, manager of sensational pop singer, Wizkid has crashed his automobile. Going by the message posted by the young man on his instagram page, he was involved in a road mishap on Christmas day.

"Thank you Jesus for life, Cars can always be bought". Godwin wrote on th social media platform.

Godwin, who is also the manager of female singer, Waje bought the car in june 2013. He however did not state where the incident occurred.

He is presently doing fine after the december 25 incident..

AERO AIRCRAFT CRASH LANDS IN LAGOS. EL-RUFAI AND OTHERS ESCAPES DEATH

According to the Daily Post, former minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai cheated death as he and other passengers on board on aero contractor plane, survived a crash landing in Lagos. El-Rufai who was on his way to attend last Sunday of the year church service at Pastor Tunde's Bakare Latter Rain Assembly, broke the news through his twitter handle.

NASRI EL- RUFAI (@elrufai): "Upon landing in Lagos, our aero aircraft lost a Tyre. The Pilot did a great job by breaking to a halt suitably. My phone flew under seat". He said.

NASRI EL- RUFAI (@elrufai): "It was amusing hearing shouts of Allah Akbar and Jesus, Jesu, while the dutiful captain was trying to slow the plane down to a safe location".

The incident is one of many recorded this year, a development that has made many aviation experts call for overhaul of the sector.
